We, at 1st Choice Motorcycle School, offer a “Three Day Novice Course” designed to help new riders feel comfortable and safe on a motorcycle.
Our “Novice Course” program consists of 7.5 hours of classroom training, 8 hours of practical skills training, and 7.5 hours of traffic training for a cost of $750.00. We do offer the use of one of our training motorcycles to our students, and that is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Riders are encouraged to use their own road-worthy motorcycle if available. Students attending the “Novice” will also receive a course syllabus.
If a student is enrolled in our Novice course program, the use of one of our training motorcycles for either their MST or road test will be covered in the course cost.
All practical training blocks include a minimum of 50 minutes of riding time per hour except the first hour, which covers bike setup, controls, and pre-trip inspection of their motorcycle.
There will be a non-refundable $250.00 deposit required to hold the student’s spot for the “Novice Course” upon booking. The remainder of the funds for the “Novice Course” will be due on the first day of the course. This can be done through an e-transfer to RobertsWD@shaw.ca or cash. A receipt will be issued on the first day of the course.
No refunds will be given once the course or training is underway.
All “Novice courses” will have a maximum of 5 students.
We also offer individual one-on-one lessons at $60.00/hour (minimum 2 hours). In the one-on-one sessions, we work on skills designed to help students feel comfortable and safe in challenging the motorcycle skills test. For road test sessions, we work on lane positioning, speed control, environmental assessment, and safety. An e-transfer to robertswd@shaw.ca is required prior to training, or cash will be accepted at the time of the training session. A receipt will be issued at the time of the lesson.
We DO NOT have the Motorcycle Skills Assessment Officer designation, so all motorcycle skills tests and road tests will have to be booked through ICBC. We encourage our students to book their MST as soon as possible.
