Friday-Sunday 8:30 – 4:30
The Novice Skills Course consists of 8 hours of classroom theory and 16 hours of practical training in a controlled environment. Students will engage in discussions and exercises covering various aspects of motorcycle operation and riding.
A combination of handouts, presentations, and group discussions complement the lessons. Topics covered in the theory sessions include:
On day two, beginner students build key riding skills in a closed environment. The course is designed to take even the most inexperienced riders and enable them to operate a motorcycle safely and confidently within a few hours. The ‘building block’ approach breaks skills into smaller exercises, which are explained and demonstrated by certified ICBC instructors before students practice them under supervision.
Students apply classroom theory during practical training sessions. Each student uses a motorcycle provided by 1st Choice Motorcycle School or their own insured motorcycle to develop proficiency in both slow and high-speed maneuvers.
